Museum exhibition design has many rigorous requirements and I am very proud of the outcomes I have achieved. Shown here is a very small sample of what I've worked on. I spent fifteen years designing exhibitions at Fernbank Museum, so that has its own section. Contact me to discuss what I will bring to your project!
WildWoods opened in 2016. I was deeply involved in bringing this project to life, including leading the in-house design team. Follow the links below for information on Fernbank Museum's WildWoods outdoor experience. Too much to explain here, so contact me and I'll tell you all about this amazing project.
I led the charge in designing, detailing, producing and installing this 3,500 square foot STEM-based permanent gallery. Opening in July 2019, it was a huge hit from day one. All about simple machines and classical physics, its interactive are all hands-on, mechanical expressions of the forces that rule our planet and the universe. Follow the link below and contact me directly for more information on my part of this amazing project.
Sculptures made from chicken wire? It's actually called "poultry fencing" and, yes, that is what I was tasked to do for autumn 2018. I found local artists, led a selection team and the design team to create a unique event of spooky and mysterious figures dotting WildWoods' and Fernbank Forest's woodlands shadows. Now in its second iteration, it is a fascinating use of a common medium to engage the museum's outdoor visitors. Contact me to hear more about my role in creating this outdoor experience.
Once the design is completed it needs to be budgeted and sent out for bid. My design intent drawing packages are created to be sent to third-party vendors and need to be the foundation for the construction documents to follow.
